LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND COMMUNITY INITIATIVE: WEBSITE ASSESSMENTS |
CyberMichigan has been conducting local government website assessments and reporting on key findings about eGovernment initiatives in Michigan since 1998. We continue to provide an independent, professional analysis of Michigan's local government websites to recognize innovative and effective practices that help citizens find information and interact with their local officials, as well as to encourage all of the state's local governments to get online. All of the official websites for the state's local governments--counties, cities, villages, and townships--were evaluated using testing methodology based on the nationally recognized Website Attribute Evaluation System (WAES) developed by the Cyberspace Policy Research Group [opens in new window] at the University of Arizona, Tucson and George Mason University.
The 2004 Local Government & Community Initiative project was funded in part by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.
Do you want to know how your community scored on the 2004 WAES assessment? We can send you an individualized report if you request one by email at webmaster@cybermichigan.org.
